Supported Goole’s premier team since 1964.
First watched the old Goole Town in the Midland League, and then the Northern Premier League from 1968 until the club’s demise in 1994. Joined the committee of Goole Town F.C. in 1977 and served until the end, appointed club secretary in 1987.
When Goole AFC was formed in April 1997, had no direct involvement, but returned to the terraces and stayed there until the sad passing of owner Mike Norman in early 2001, and became the match day secretary from May of that year until the present day.
Have always been a voice in the press on footballing matters, and tried to use the media for P.R., but it is becoming increasingly difficult to rely on anything other than the local paper as the club have slipped down the non-league ladder.
However, he believes with the new partnership with EITI Limited, which he regards as the best bit of business that anyone involved with Goole football has achieved in thirty years plus, that success is just around the corner for the club, and with the accent on youth and local footballers, this will also be beneficial in the near future.
